History of Spot the Dot

I coach my daughter’s softball team. We are forever working on keeping our eyes focused on the ball. After pitching many a ball and yelling, from the pitchers mound “keep your eyes on the ball!” I started thinking that I wanted to add something to the repetition of batting practice, something that would encourage improvement. So I came up with a fun game that disciplines the mind to focus on the ball while batting and catching. I call the game Spot the Dot. The kids love it. And while having fun practicing there was a rapid improvement in their batting and catching skills. Since Spot the Dot was such a success and had such positive energy, it became a game that anyone could enjoy and benefit from.
